The RN House Supervisor oversees the nursing department in the DON’s absence. The House Supervisor reviews staffing at the change of a shift and assigns and replaces staff to meet patient care needs. Completes patient care rounds. Coordinates admissions, transfers and / or discharges and ensures appropriate documentation. Assists in orientation of evening and night shift employees. Supervises and evaluates evening and night shift employees.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a current, unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia. Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment preferred. Chesapeake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Chesapeakeis recruiting for a Maintenance Director for a 180 bed skilled nursing center.

The Maintenance Director maintains preventive maintenance schedules using Building Engines, Electronic facility Management system. Repairs physical structures, maintains utility systems of building, and maintains grounds. Supervises support staff and contractors as applicable. Installs, services, and repairs mechanical equipment.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Licensure: Valid driver’s license

Experience and/or Pre-requisites

• Two years’ experience in Maintenance in a commercial setting, Healthcare experience preferred.
• Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair the above systems.
• Must be CFC certified in refrigeration Type I minimum within 6 months of hire date.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to accept and exhibit the responsibility to make sound management decisions.
• Ability to work flexible hours and report to work within 20 minutes for urgent situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all staff, patients, families and visitors.
• Has ability to communicate, comprehend, understand and write messages, and follow directions.
• Basic computer skills such as e-mail, electronic order entry, Building Engines, etc.
