As the Staffing Coordinator, you'll work closely with the center's nursing leadership team to arrange and coordinate staff coverage for patient care departments based on census, established guidelines, and anticipated patient care needs to help our center meet its commitment of providing Care Beyond Compare. You will also work closely with the center's Director of Human Resources and keep HR informed of current and anticipated hiring needs.

What you'll do

• Prepare and maintain work schedules on a four-week basis for patient care staff using an electronic scheduling system.

• Monitor schedules daily and secures replacements as needed for gaps in coverage. 

• Ensure the electronic scheduling system stays up to date to accurately reflect staffing schedule. 

• Verify employee attendance and communicate with HR regarding employee absences or tardiness. 

• Coordinate employee requests for time off to ensure proper coverage of nursing units.

• Develop and maintain good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other departments in the healthcare center.

What You'll Do

The Unit Manager will oversee clinical operations of the unit that provides services to up to 35 short-stay residents and is responsible for staff supervision of nurses and CNAs, as well as interfacing with physicians, and providing clinical expertise to staff as needed. Customer service skills are important as you will interact frequently with residents and family members. Typical hours are Monday through Friday day shift, with some weekend and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered licensure as an LPN or RN in Virginia.

• 3 to 5 years experience as a nurse. 

• Nurse management experience preferred. 

• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment preferred.
